Last week we returned from Sagalassos, where we have been photographing for a week. Apart from our work on the site itself, we also photographed 3 sites on the territory of the ancient city of Sagalassos: Kapikaya, Tekke Saray and Kale Kökez.

At the end of the excavation season at Sagalassos, Turkey, we always go for two weeks to photograph the finds and structures of the archaeological site.Apart from that we also worked very hard on the project. In June we focused mainly on architecture and landscape. Now in August our attention went to the people working there. Besides portraits we photographed them at work. What are they doing, how do they fit into the landscape, the architecture, the site in general?
During the course of the project we will go six periods to Sagalassos, a large-scale archeaological project in South-West Turkey lead by Prof. M. Waelkens of the University of Leuven, Belgium. This first period, June 2008, we focused on architecture, landscape and the relationship between the two.
