Prior to the start of the project a photobook, (in)site Sagalassos, has been published by Peeters Publishers with a selection of images made the past five years.
in)site Sagalassos is the first photobook on the archaeological site Sagalassos, Turkey. Since 1990, Sagalassos has become a large-scale, interdisciplinary excavation of the Catholic University of Leuven, Belgium, directed by Prof. Marc Waelkens. From 2003 on Bruno Vandermeulen and Danny Veys are photographing the finds and structures of the city. Being a photographer they have an other perspective than the archaeologists. This book is a photographic impression of the dig with all her monuments and quarters. Vandermeulen and Veys present the city in an intriguing way, combining large and small photo’s, details and panorama’s, architecture and landscape. It contains a preface and a historical overview of the site and excavations by Prof. M. Waelkens. Printed and published by Peeters Publishers. To order Peeters
